Galaxy Watch 5 Pro tipped to be one of the only Wear OS watches with 3-day battery life

Image: 91Mobiles

One of the biggest problems with Wear OS smartwatches has always been battery life, but it seems the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is going to make a big effort to avoid that problem, with claims of three-day endurance being thrown around.

Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 5 series is roughly a month away from hitting our wrists, and while it appears to be a minor upgrade overall, the “Pro” model seems quite exciting.

Ice Universe claims on Twitter that Samsung is set to achieve around three-day battery life on the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.

That’s a number virtually unheard of in the Wear OS world.

OnePlus will launch another pair of affordable TWS earbuds in India next month

After announcing the OnePlus 10T launch event earlier this week, OnePlus has now revealed that it will also launch a pair of affordable TWS earbuds in the Indian market days before the event. The upcoming earbuds, called the OnePlus Nord CE, will be the second earbuds in OnePlus’s Nord lineup and will be available for under ₹3,000 (~$38).

For the unaware, OnePlus launched the first TWS earbuds in the Nord lineup earlier this year in April. The OnePlus Nord Buds offered 12.4mm dynamic drivers, up to 7 hours of continuous music playback, four noise-canceling microphones, and fast charging support for just ₹2,799 (~$35). In addition, the earbuds also featured an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance, Bluetooth 5.2, and a low-latency mode.

OnePlus Ace Pro in the works with flagship chipset and 16 GB RAM

OnePlus 10T will arrive on August 3 and we will also see OxygenOS 13 on stage. The phone is expected to have a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset but it might not be the only phone with this platform OnePlus has in the pipeline.

According to Digital Chat Station, a device named OnePlus Ace Pro is also on its way with the latest and greatest Snapdragon, and it will also have 16 GB RAM and 150W fast charging. Given the brand’s history of giving one phone two different names for domestic and overseas sales, it is fair to assume the OnePlus Ace Pro is actually the 10T.

Image reveals thinner Galaxy Z Fold 4 bezels and wider aspect ratio

Image: Sammobile

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 4 will boast several design improvements, such as a slightly wider aspect ratio compared to the previous models and slightly thinner bezels around the cover display. Now, a new leaked image attempts to put a spotlight on these two design upgrades.

The image below compared the Vivo X Fold (top) with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 (middle) and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 (bottom). At a glance, Samsung’s next foldable flagship phone seemingly has a thinner metal frame near the hinge. It’s more similar to the Vivo X Fold than the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in this regard.

This design choice has allowed Samsung to give the cover display a slightly wider aspect ratio. The bezel is also more uniform all around.

Moto Razr 2022 launch date confirmed, and it’s a week before the Galaxy Z Flip4

Image: Motorola

Ever since the return of the Motorola Razr brand, the company has gone all out on its clamshell design that heavily leans on nostalgia for classic handsets, like the Razr V3 from 2004. However, previous Razr foldable phones have struggled to keep up with the current king of clamshell handsets — the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip series. So when leaks about a radically-different Razr phone for this year started coming in, it made a lot of sense. We have a fair idea of what to expect from the upcoming foldable handset now, and with the launch date officially announced today, we’ll be seeing the whole thing quite soon.

Motorola’s official handle on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo has just announced that the Moto Razr 2022 will launch alongside the Moto X30 Pro on August 2 at 7:30 PM CST. Considering that the Moto Razr might finally carry proper flagship-level specs this time and the fact that the Moto X30 Pro is a top-of-the-line device, the event will be a crucial, flagship-studded affair for the company.

The 5G version of the Realme Pad X will introduce Limelight for video calls

Image: Realme

The Realme Pad X was announced in May as a Wi-Fi only slate for the Chinese market. Now the company is preparing to launch the tablet in India and is advertising it as the “only 5G tablet in the premium mid-range segment”. That won’t be the only change – the R&D team has developed a feature to make video calls a little bit easier, thanks to the tablet’s 105° front-facing camera.

The feature, called Limelight, automatically tracks you to make sure that you are in the center of the frame, leaving you free to move about instead of being anchored to your chair.

Samsung’s 2nd-generation SmartSSD can process data right on the drive

Image: Samsung

Forget CPUs. Say goodbye to ARM systems on a chip (SOCs). Samsung just dropped its second-generation smart SSD, and this sounds like a game changer.

The SmartSSD processes data right there on the hard drive. Programs saved to your PC don’t need to lose speed transferring to your CPU in order to launch. Games can render graphics directly from the drive, freeing up GPU cores. It’s like a party on your SSD and everyone is invited.

“The SmartSSD is playing an increasingly important role,” Samsung said in an official press release. “Especially with the growth of next-generation technologies such as AI, machine learning and 5G/6G, which require large amounts of data processing.”

But this isn’t a regular consumer-facing product. Samsung developed SmartSSD for high-performance use in industry and research. SmartSSD is a proprietary technology developed by Samsung and AMD in 2020. The hard drive is designed to relieve the CPU and GPU during heavy scan processes, such as when using AI or developing high-end graphics.

Pixel Buds Pro support automatic audio switching just like the AirPods

Image: Google

Google has two new products available for preorder on Friday, the Pixel 6a smartphone and the Pixel Buds Pro wireless earphones. The latter are especially interesting, as they’ll bring pro features to your Bluetooth audio experience. It’s not just the noise cancellation feature that’s exciting, as the Pixel Buds Pro brings support for automatic audio switching.

That’s a feature already available on similar products from the competition, including the AirPods and some Galaxy Buds models. Auto switching detects the source of the audio and switches automatically to it. You won’t have to manually pair the Pixel Buds Pro with your Android phone or computer when switching devices.

Google details the new Pixel Buds Pro feature in a blog post. The feature promises to fix the tedious process of manually repairing wireless earphones to a new device. Moving from the phone to a tablet or computer can take up some time. These devices need to talk to each other via Bluetooth. That means ditching one connection in favor of the other.
