New Google Pixel Watch renders show off the smartwatch of your dreams

Image: youtube (Jon Prosser)

These slides come courtesy of Jon Prosser, highlighting the watch’s circular display with a bezel-less design and how it will bring “unity to hardware and software.” The circular knob on the right of the smartwatch could be helpful while scrolling through large lists and navigating the UI. The wearable is referred to as the Pixel Watch in the leak, hinting that this could very well be its final marketing name. Other renders show the smartwatch with different color watch bands, including orange, yellow, and white.

Intel Raptor Lake CPU spotted in first benchmark leak

Image: Intel

Raptor Lake is Intel’s range of next-gen processors expected to come out in 2022, and we’ve just seen the first purported benchmark of these CPUs.

As highlighted by regular hardware leaker Komachi_Ensaka on Twitter, what could be the 13th-gen flagship processor has been sighted in a BAPCo Crossmark benchmark as Tom’s Hardware reports.

Note that the benchmark has since been removed – of course, it shouldn’t have been aired in the first place – but not before Tom’s screen grabbed and shared the news.

According to the details given here, the spec that the chip runs with is eight performance cores (new Raptor Cove cores), and 16 efficiency cores (Gracemont cores – the same as with Alder Lake). This is what was previously rumored, and gives the processor a theoretical 32-threads (as efficiency cores don’t have hyper-threading).

The benchmark itself shows the Raptor Lake CPU hitting an overall score of 1,591, which compares to a result of 2,376 for the Core i9-12900K, Intel’s new Alder Lake flagship.

First Apple Mixed Reality Headset Rumored to Focus on Gaming, Media, and Communication

Image: Antonio De Rosa

Gurman, who often reveals accurate insights into Apple’s plans, outlined the broad use-cases that users can expect from the company’s mixed reality headset in his weekly “Power On” newsletter.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently explained that Apple is preparing to position its headset to be capable of replacing the iPhone in 10 years, but Gurman today clarified that the first-generation version of the device will not be a Mac, iPhone or iPad replacement from the start.

Instead, Gurman believes that the headset will focus on three “killer” features: gaming, media consumption, and communication.

Image: @onleaks

Soon after Qualcomm unveiled its latest premium processor, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed that the company’s next-generation flagship series will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.

Lau stated on his official Weibo page that the new chispet will be included in the company’s next-generation devices (via PhoneArena). He didn’t mention the OnePlus 10 and 10 Pro, but that’s what the company’s next phones will most likely be called.

The OnePlus 10 Pro’s alleged renders leaked last month, with a design that appeared to be inspired by the Samsung Galaxy S21. The renders revealed a different rear camera array than that found on previous OnePlus devices.

We’re expecting Realme’s 9 series to launch sometime in January 2022 with at least four models in tow. One of the bunch is the Realme 9i and its key specs recently leaked via ThePixel.vn and were also confirmed by reliable tipster Chun on Twitter.

These include a 90Hz refresh rate LCD with FHD+ resolution and Snapdragon 680 chipset which was unveiled earlier in October. It’s built on a 6nm process and features a 4G LTE modem, Kryo 265 CPU cores and Adreno 610 GPU. The leaked renders also show a triple camera system on the back with speculations of a 50MP main sensor floating around. The display has a punch hole selfie cam tucked in the left corner.

Moto Edge X30 teasers reveal battery life, camera design

The Moto Edge X30 will be unveiled on Thursday as the first smartphone with the newest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The brand has started giving more details about the phone in the last few days, and the latest teasers revealed battery life, camera design and sensors.

The phone also appeared on Geekbench with 12GB RAM while a company exec shared a video from the production line, confirming the Edge X30 will be ready for the December 9 launch.

The camera island on the back will have two 50MP cameras – behind the wide and ultrawide lenses. The third unit is likely a simple 2MP cam for portrait shots. The front-facing shooter will be behind a punch hole and will have a 60MP sensor.

The battery inside the Edge X30 will have 5,000 mAh capacity and will support 68W charging speeds – another first for the brand. The device will also have NFC, something Moto flagships have skipped in the past few years.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 trio appears in official looking renders

A new set of official renders of the Galaxy Tab S8 series were shared by Evan Blass on Twitter. These show out the 11-inch Tab S8, 12.4-inch Tab S8+ and the 14.6-inch Tab S8 Ultra displays. The two smaller slates have a familiar look to the outgoing Galaxy Tab S7 series while the Ultra variant sports a notch as rumored previously.

We can clearly spot two selfie cameras in the notch and noticeably slimmer bezels all around compared to the other two models. The Tab S8 Ulta’s notch appears quite compact compared to some other devices (ahem MacBook Pro) but it will still raise plenty of controversy.

All three Galaxy Tab S8 models are expected to bring 120Hz AMOLED panels, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 gen 1 chipsets and ample batteries with the Ultra sporting a rumored 12,000 mAh cell with 45W charging capabilities.

‘Ameca’ robot shows off more human-like facial expressions

Engineered Arts, the company behind the human-like Mesmer robot series, has unveiled a new creation that may weird you out even more. “Ameca” is a new humanoid robot that doesn’t have realistic hair and skin like Mesmer, but can instead show more human-like, natural-looking expressions than others we’ve seen, as The Verge has reported.

Ameca at first displays confusion as it appears to wake up, then shows mild astonishment when it moves its hands (the hand gestures looks fairly real, too). It then appears surprised to see the viewer or camera, and finishes the video with a smile and welcoming hand gesture.
