Samsung Galaxy A03 is allegedly landing in India before the end of the month

Samsung Galaxy A03 is allegedly landing in India before the end of the month

Samsung’s entry-level Galaxy A03 was initially announced in November, and finally got released early this year. Now it’s headed to India, where, according to a new rumor from a usually reliable tipster, it is destined to land before the end of February (or in early March).

It is said to retail over there for around INR 12,000. Only two of its three international color options will make it to India: red and black. Also, only two RAM/storage versions will be available: 3/32GB and 4/64GB.

The rumor also reveals that the A03 is powered by the Unisoc T606 SoC with a 1.6 GHz octa-core CPU. The phone has a 6.5-inch 720×1600 PLS TFT screen, a 48 MP main rear camera and a 2 MP depth sensor, a 5 MP selfie snapper, and a 5,000 mAh battery. It runs Android 11.

OnePlus confirms Dimensity 900 SoC for the Nord CE 2, official renders in blue leak

OnePlus is making the Nord CE 2 5G official on February 17. The company has already teased 65W charging for it, and today it’s going one step further and revealing that the handset will indeed be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 900 SoC, as rumored before.

Not just that, but a new image depicting the Nord CE 2 in Bahamas Blue has been outed, and this one was apparently found on the OnePlus website itself, through a slip-up from the company. We can’t really confirm that, but we can say this looks rather official indeed.

This foldable iPhone Flip concept just blew our minds

Image: ADR Studio

The latest iPhone Flip concept comes to us from talented designer Antonia De Rosa. De Rosa imagines a product called the iPhone Air. And if we’re being honest, it’s a much catchier name than the iPhone Flip. Nonetheless, De Rosa’s mockups are absolutely stunning and incredibly sleek.

Even better, De Rosa put together an Apple-style mockup of a commercial for the iPhone Air that really makes the device appear compelling. Interestingly, De Rosa’s mockup presents an iPhone that is completely portless. Notably, we’ve heard rumblings that legendary Apple designer Jony Ive envisioned that the evolution of the iPhone would result in a device with no ports.

As you’ll see in the video below, the cameras on the iPhone Flip mockup sit flush with the device. And while this may seem fanciful given the camera bump on the iPhone today, rumor has it that the bump will be significantly reduced on the upcoming iPhone 14.

World’s first QD-OLED TVs will be expensive, but not insane

Sony’s Bravia A95K likely will be the first QD-OLED TV you can buy. Samsung is also likely planning a QD-OLED model, but we haven’t gotten any details on that yet. Sony already has published the product page for the A95K on its U.S. website, with information about both sizes — it will come in 55- and 65-inch screens. However, the company isn’t quite ready to tell us how much these TVs will cost. Where we’d normally expect a price to be displayed, there’s simply an “email me when available” message.

And yet, even though there are no prices, Sony has left us a breadcrumb — a little hint of what we might expect to pay for this TV. Sony maintains a loyalty program on its website called Sony Rewards. It’s a points-based system that typically allots 1 point to customers for every dollar they spend. And while we may not know Sony’s A95K pricing, it has already told us the points we’ll earn: 3,000 points for the 55-inch and 4,000 points for the 65-inch.

iPhone 13 is Significantly Faster Than Samsung’s New Galaxy S22 in Benchmarks

Image: Samsung

In a Geekbench 5 benchmark test conducted by PCMag, the Galaxy S22 Ultra with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor achieved a multi-core score of 3,433, compared to 4,647 for the iPhone 13 Pro Max with Apple’s A15 Bionic chip. Based on these results, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is around 35% faster than the Galaxy S22 Ultra for CPU performance.

In the United States, all Galaxy S22 models are equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, but models sold in Europe use Samsung’s Exynos 2200 chip. Geekbench 5 results for the Exynos 2200 models still have multi-core scores in the mid-3,000s, however, so iPhone 13 models maintain a considerable lead in performance.

Intel is officially in the bitcoin mining business now

Image: Intel

Intel has announced its plans to fully embrace blockchain technology and finally enter the bitcoin mining space with brand new chips that will be available later this year.

In a new blog post, the chip giant explained that it has developed a roadmap of energy-efficient accelerators that will ship in 2022.

Intel is also conscious of the fact that “some blockchains require an enormous amount of computing power” which is why the company is focusing its efforts on developing the most energy-efficient computing technologies at scale.

So far, Argo Blockchain, BLOCK (formerly Square) and GRID infrastructure are among its first customers for this new product. As the company’s new architecture is implemented on a tiny piece of silicon, it will have a minimal impact to the supply of other Intel processors.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus might be here earlier than we thought

Image: Qualcomm

We’re expecting to see many a 2022 Android flagship phone arrive running the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor from Qualcomm, but a new leak suggests that the improved Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus variant might be appearing on the scene sooner than was originally thought.

According to Mobile Chip Expert on Chinese social media site Weibo (via Notebookcheck), Qualcomm is keen to accelerate its release cycle this year, and we could be seeing Android phones running the upgraded chipset sooner rather than later.

Apparently well-known Taiwanese chip maker TSMC is under orders to get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus out as quickly as possible. We were expecting it in the second half of the year, but if this new information is accurate then it might be unveiled – and ready to go in devices – earlier than that.

Hundreds of e-commerce sites booby-trapped with payment card-skimming malware

About 500 e-commerce websites were recently found to be compromised by hackers who installed a credit card skimmer that surreptitiously stole sensitive data when visitors attempted to make a purchase.

A report published on Tuesday is only the latest one involving Magecart, an umbrella term given to competing crime groups that infect e-commerce sites with skimmers. Over the past few years, thousands of sites have been hit by exploits that cause them to run malicious code. When visitors enter payment card details during purchase, the code sends that information to attacker-controlled servers.
