The Steam Deck should be good to go with Windows 11, for those who are thinking about replacing the default operating system – a custom version of Steam OS (Linux) – with Microsoft’s desktop OS.

While we already know that Windows 10 will be compatible with the portable PC for those who might want to make the switch to Microsoft, Windows 11 is a distinctly thornier issue due to its system requirements including the stipulation for TPM.

Criminals are exploiting long-standing issues with global supply and delivery chains to trick victims into falling for identity theft scams, experts have warned.

A report from Kaspersky has urged people to be on their guard when opening and interacting with messages claiming to be from delivery firms – especially concerning online purchases.

But the company has also flagged a growing number of scams utilizing WhatsApp in order to defraud users out of money, as well as others pushing fake apps and online romance sites.

Battlegrounds Mobile India is off to a strong start, clocking millions of downloads and daily active users in a matter of weeks. The game’s access will finally be extended to iOS users, making it a far more complete experience.

When BGMI was launched in June, it was only available for Android — both in the beta phase as well as the public rollout. While it has already crossed 50 million downloads in India, there was no information on when Apple users would be able to play the game. Months later, Krafton has finally broken its silence around the iOS version of Battlegrounds Mobile India. And if other sources are to be believed, the good news will be with us as early as next week.

Samsung is apparently working on a new movable camera design for smartphones that may enable variable aperture.

The design came to light in a recently published patent (h/t LetsGoDigital). The camera array, in its standard setup, sits horizontally across a smartphone’s back. However, the cameras in this array can also move, forming a triangle. The primary camera resides in the middle and can move downwards from its original position. At the same time, an ultra-wide camera and a telephoto camera reside on the left and right sides of the array and can move inwards.

Apple-supplier Pegatron to expand its production – Including in India

Apple iPhone 11 review: The best $700 iPhone Apple has ever made - CNET
Image: Cnet

The three Apple contract manufacturers in India — Foxconn, Pegatron and Wistron — all took a hit in the second wave of Covid-19 that crippled manufacturing activity across the country.

All the three companies, with their headquarters at Taiwan, had to halt their production work here as some of their employees became Covid-affected.

But with Apple’s production target of the new iPhone series to be met around September, at least two of the three companies, Foxconn and Pegatron, ramped up their manufacturing numbers at their units in China to make up for the shortfall.

But with the Covid-19 situation relatively easing, Apple contract manufacturers are looking back at India.

And Pegatron, which has committed itself to $150 million (Roughly Rs 1100 crore) initial investment in the country, has announced that it was looking to ramp up its operations in India.

Pegatron, which has come up with a plant in Chennai (actually near Chengalpet) in Tamil Nadu, will start churning out Apple devices from here in a month or two.

IMDB TV app now available on Android

Image : Google

Amazon Prime Video might be the premiere video streaming platform from Jeff Bezos megacorp, but the slightly lesser-known IMDB TV that gives free access to selected movies and TV shows is now available on Android via the Google Play Store.

IMDB TV offers access to a fairly impressive selection of Amazon original shows and movies alongside some fairly impressive content from larger studios – such as Universal. The app has been on a number of services such as Roku, Xbox, Playstation, and even Android TV hardware for a little while already so it’s weird why there would be such a holdup for the mobile version.
