Microsoft Surface Duo 2 news, price, leaks and everything we know so far

Image: Microsoft

The Microsoft Surface Duo was an unusual smartphone with a dual-screen design that’s unlike almost anything else out there. That was both a blessing and a curse, helping it stand out, but ensuring it would be a niche device.

Samsung is soon expected to unveil the Galaxy S21 FE to challenge the best Android phones in the highly competitive value flagship segment. Ahead of the phone’s launch, the folks at SamMobile have managed to get their hands on its user manual.

While the user manual doesn’t mention the core specs of the phone, it does confirm a few key features. Like its predecessor, the Galaxy S21 FE will have an IP68 rating, which means it can stay submerged in fresh water up to 1.5 meters deep for up to 30 minutes.

Upcoming Fossil Gen 6 swartwatch won’t run Wear OS 3 until 2022

Fossil this week unveiled its next-generation smartwatch lineup, called the Fossil Gen 6. While fans were excited for the launch, the company revealed that the much-anticipated Fossil Gen 6 will be launched with Wear OS 2 rather than the new Wear OS 3 seen on the latest Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic and Watch 4. This is a surprising and disappointing revelation about the new hardware.

Users eager for the OS 3 update will have to wait till 2022, when it will be available after a full factory rese is performed, which is something we haven’t typically seen required for an OS update. The Gen 6 will also be one of the first devices to have the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 Plus Platform, unlike the new Galaxy Watches, which use the Exynos W920 processor. The company says the new chipset will offer a 30% performance boost compared to Gen 5 devices and more efficient power consumption.

Image: Alex Castro / The Verge

Google is announcing some new experiments available in the latest Chrome beta intended to make it easier to find things on the web and share interesting text. If you want to jump onto the Chrome beta to give these features a shot, download it here for your computer or here for your Android device. (Though as with all betas, exercise caution, as things may not work perfectly.) And I’m going to mention enabling flags throughout — to do so, enter chrome://flags into your address bar, which is where you can turn on Chrome’s many available experiments.

One cool new experiment in Chrome on Android lets you see some search results under the address bar after you’ve already navigated to a page.
