iQOO is readying another smartphone in China, which would most likely be a budget one judging by the name and the charging speeds. A 3C certification revealed those details signaling an imminent launch as well.

The 3C listing reveals 18W charging speed, which is among the lowest in the iQOO lineup. As per previous rumors, the device will likely sport a Dimensity 800U chipset, 8GB/128GB memory, 90Hz IPS LCD panel and a three cameras on its back.

Aside from the aforementioned ones, we’ll also be getting a Poco X4 Pro and a Poco X4 GT, so all of the X3 handsets are going to get successors.

According to a usually reliable tipster, the Poco X4 NFC will make its global debut in the first quarter of next year (January to March), which is also when the Poco X4 sans NFC will launch in India.

The Poco X4 GT is only for global markets and won’t be arriving in India, nor is its launch time frame known at the moment, but it’s safe to say it will come after the X4. Finally, the Poco X4 Pro is in the works, and will be launching in India, but it’s still not known when exactly that might happen. So probably not very early in 2022.

Realme GT 2 Pro powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 scores over 1 million AnTuTu points

The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 and sports model code RMX3300. Previous rumors claimed the Realme GT 2 Pro will have model designation RMX3301, so it’s likely that we are looking at the same phone with slight differences.

Realme hasn’t divulged anything about the GT 2 Pro yet, but previous leaks revealed the smartphone will run Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 out of the box, have LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage onboard, and pack a 6.51″ FullHD+ AMOLED screen, likely with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The Realme GT 2 Pro is also rumored to feature a 32MP selfie camera on the front and a 50MP primary camera with OIS on the back. The smartphone will support 125W UltraDart charging, but we don’t know how big its battery will be.

The new Galaxy A03 features a 6.5-inch Infinity-V display with the same HD+ resolution as the Galaxy A03s. Under the hood, it has an unnamed octa-core chipset with two performance cores clocked at 1.6GHz and six efficiency-focused cores. The chipset is paired with up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage.

In the camera department, the Galaxy A03 has a dual-lens system at the rear with a 48MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. It is joined by a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. The phone’s 5MP front camera is housed within the V-shaped notch at the top of the screen.

Keeping the lights on is a 5000mAh battery, but Samsung hasn’t revealed the charging speeds supported by the phone. The Galaxy A03s, which was unveiled in August this year, supports 15W charging.

Huawei nova 8 SE 4G is official with Kirin 710A

We only heard of a 4G version of the Huawei nova 8 SE yesterday, and today the maker officially announced it. Just as expected, it is powered by the Kirin 710A chipset and supports 66W fast charging.

The Huawei nova 8 SE 4G differentiates from the 5G version only by the chipset – it keeps the 6.5” OLED screen of FullHD resolution with an under-display fingerprint scanner and a waterdrop notch on top for the 16MP camera.

The main cam setup on the back looks like a stove with four burners, and behind them are hiding a 64MP main cam + 8MP ultrawide + 2MP macro + 2MP depth sensor. The LED flash is in the middle, in between all of the shooters.

The phone is being launched in China, so unsurprisingly, it has HarmonyOS 2 out of the box. Тhe battery capacity is only 3,800 mAh, but Huawei is one of the few companies with proper power-saving features, so the tiny cell won’t be a big issue for users.

Huawei is already selling the nova 8 SE 4G on Vmall with 8GB RAM and 128 GB storage for CNY2,099, which is just about $330 оr €290. You can pick between four colors – Sky Gradient, Silver, Blue, and Black. It is highly unlikely the phone to make it outside China.

Leak says Dimensity 9000 could be cheaper than Snapdragon 8 Gen 1

Mediatek Dimensity 9000 SoC

Mediatek announced the Dimensity 9000 processor last week, and it’s positioned as the company’s first full-blown premium flagship processor. The new chipset is expected to duke it out against Qualcomm’s 2022 flagship silicon.

Those expecting similarly cheap Mediatek-powered phones as the Dimensity 1200-powered OnePlus Nord 2 and Realme X7 Max might be disappointed though. Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station has claimed that the Dimensity 9000 is almost double the price of the Dimensity 1200.Digital Chat Station/Weibo

The leaker further claims that the new Mediatek chipset is still cheaper than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (tipped to be the name of the next Snapdragon SoC). Of course, cheaper component pricing isn’t a guarantee that phone makers will pass the savings on to consumers. It’s also likely that pricing for the new Mediatek processor will vary by phone brand and the size of the order. But it does raise the possibility that Dimensity 9000 phones could be cheaper than similarly equipped Snapdragon phones next year.

Upcoming Chromebooks may offer snoop detection to protect your work from prying eyes

Snoop detection will be done through the Human Detection Sensor and your Chromebook’s webcam. Google would use the webcam footage to determine the presence of other people in the frame. This footage is stored and processed locally.

Lattice Semiconductor is one of the companies that Google is working with to develop the specialized hardware for the human presence sensor. You can check out an early demo of the hardware in the video above.

Apple’s AR headset could land next year and be more powerful than the iPhone 14

Image: Future

For a long time we’ve heard rumors that Apple is working on an AR (augmented reality) or VR headset, and now it seems the wearable could be less than a year away, with a late 2022 release date touted.

That’s according to Ming-Chi Kuo (an analyst with a great track record for Apple leaks), in a research report seen by MacRumors.

According to Kuo, the headset will be capable of both AR and VR, with the latter enabled by a pair of 4K Micro OLED displays from Sony. It will apparently be powered by a chipset similar to the M1 that we’ve seen in some Macs and the iPad Pro 2021.

Robots Won’t Close the Warehouse Worker Gap Anytime Soon

A rush to adopt more automation does not mean that artificial intelligence and robots will solve the worker shortage. Amazon’s prototype robots are not yet capable of doing the most challenging, and important, work inside its fulfillment centers: picking the many products stored on its shelves. They’re simply not smart enough.
