Nubia sent us an invite to its next launch event, which is taking place on April 12 at 7 AM EST. As you can see below, it’s going to be all about “the next level gaming beast”, so clearly we’re talking about a device that’s part of the Red Magic stable. But what could it be?

Well, back in February nubia promised to bring its then-just-unveiled for China Red Magic 7 Pro to international markets in the second quarter of this year. That quarter starts in April and ends in June. We’re now in April. See the connection?

Realme teased the Realme 9 Pro+ Free Fire Limited Edition in February without divulging anything about it, and yesterday, a leaked image of its sketch gave us a glimpse of the smartphone’s design. Today, Realme’s Thai branch took to social media to give us our best look yet at the Realme 9 Pro+ Free Fire Limited Edition while also revealing its launch date.

The Realme 9 Pro+ Free Fire Limited Edition will debut in Thailand on April 12 at 2PM local time, but the company hasn’t revealed anything about its availability in other regions. However, previous rumors claim the smartphone will eventually launch in India – Realme’s biggest market.

The Realme 9 Pro+ Free Fire Limited Edition has a new paint job, with the company logo moved from the bottom-left to the center of the back cover, which also features the Free Fire logo with a rainbow-like effect. The design accents flanking the Realme logo have a similar effect, with the rest of the panel reflecting light at different angles.

Additionally, you can see that the camera island on the rear has the text “Booyah!” written on it. Realme is even promoting the Realme 9 Pro+ Free Fire Limited Edition with #DaretoBooyah on social media.

Realme hasn’t detailed the 9 Pro+ Free Fire Limited Edition’s specs sheet yet, but we expect it to be the same as the standard version since the differences between the two are likely to be only cosmetic. You can check out the Realme 9 Pro+ regular model’s detailed specs here.

Realme V23 leaked in full ahead of imminent launch

A Realme V23 smartphone surprisingly appeared on China Telecom’s website – one of the biggest carriers in the company’s homeland. The device is listed with its specs and some photos, meaning a launch is just behind the corner.

The phone is an affordable midranger with a Mediatek chipset, two cameras, and a big battery.

The Realme V23 is listed with a Dimensity 810 chipset and two RAM choices – 8GB or 12GB, while storage is 256GB. At the front, we have a 6.58” screen with 1080p resolution and a waterdrop notch for the 8MP selfie camera.

Around the back are a 48MP main camera and a 2MP secondary shooter, likely for portrait shots.

The battery capacity is 5,000 mAh, but there’s no word on fast charging.

The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 will reportedly pack a side-mounted fingerprint scanner

Samsung will reportedly lift the covers off its fourth-gen foldables — the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 — in Q3 this year. While we’re still months away from the launch, leaks about the upcoming devices have already started popping up. For instance, earlier this week, we learned that the Galaxy Z Fold 4 could feature the same 3x telephoto lens as the Galaxy S22 series. Now, a new report from Business Korea claims that Samsung will not offer an in-display fingerprint sensor on its next-gen foldables.

According to the report, several media outlets and industry insiders had previously predicted that Samsung would offer an in-display fingerprint scanner on its fourth-gen foldables based on a patent Samsung had filed with the World Intellectual Property Organizations (WIPO). While that may have been true, Samsung has reportedly reconsidered its decision now, and it now plans to offer side-mounted fingerprint scanners on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4.

Garmin Forerunner 955 leak teases super-long battery life

Image; Garmin

More details of the forthcoming Garmin Forerunner 955 have emerged, and it looks like the next-gen multi-sports watch will come in both standard and solar variants – which would mean a big increase in battery life.

The Forerunner 945, which launched back in 2019, had a lens made from Corning Gorilla Glass, but swapping that for Garmin’s photovoltaic Power Glass would keep the battery topped up throughout the day with regular exposure to sunlight, allowing it to run for much longer between charges.

To put things into context, the Forerunner 945 has a maximum battery life of two weeks in smartwatch mode, and 36 hours in GPS mode. With improvements in battery tech, more efficient components, and solar charging, the Forerunner 955 could give performance more similar to the 47mm Garmin Fenix 7 Solar, which runs for up to 22 days in smartwatch mode, and 73 hours in GPS mode.

The new info comes via Gadgets & Wearables, who spotted listings for both solar and standard versions of the Forerunner 945 on Swedish sports equipment retailer RunningShop. The pages for both watches have now been taken down, but not before Google cached the page for the solar model.

As you can see, details of the new Garmin watch are scant, but this isn’t our first fleeting glimpse of the Forerunner 955. Back in January, a listing for a Forerunner 955 LTE bundle briefly appeared on Garmin’s official Australian online store, suggesting that you’ll be able to pick up a version of the watch with mobile data connectivity.

That would allow you to upload biometric data, and download maps and apps from Garmin Connect IQ without a Bluetooth connection to your phone, which would be a real boon for events where you can’t carry your handset.

OnePlus Nord 2T leaked images suggest three cameras with questionable aesthetics

OnePlus Nord 2T

The OnePlus Nord 2T is expected to come as a refreshed version of the Nord 2. Reports are the cameras will remain unchanged, but the design on the back panel will be overhauled.

According to one tipster the Nord 2T will have a dual-circle design, with the top one hosting the main shooter. The weird part is the second circle – it has room for the 8MP ultra-wide cam and the 2MP monochrome sensor, but they are positioned assymetrically.

The source is generally on point with such leaks, and so it’s probably worth the benefit of the doubt even if the design is… polarizing. We can see the phone will come with a dual-LED flash, likely dual-tone like its brother from another mother Realme GT2.

The Nord 2T is expected to bring Dimensity 1300 chipset and 80W charging for its 4,500 mAh battery as its key upgrades.

Image: Mediatek

Without much fanfare, MediaTek has announced the Dimensity 1300 chipset, which is expected to debut on the OnePlus Nord 2T/3.

The chip, built on TSMC’s 6nm process, features an octa-core processor with four Cortex-A78 cores (one Ultra, running up to 3GHz, and three Super, up to 2.6GHz) and four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores, scaling up to 2GHz. The graphics processor is a 9-core Arm Mali-G77 MC9.

The Dimensity 1300 supports up to 168Hz displays at up to FullHD+ resolution, or 2520x1080px. You can pair the chip with as much as 16GB of 4266Mbps LPDDR4x RAM. The Dimensity 1300 supports UFS 3.1 type storage.

The ISP supports up to 200MP cameras and can capture multi-person portrait mode video and 4K HDR video. There’s hardware-accelerated AV1 decoding for faster 4K streaming.

MediaTek hasn’t shared which devices will launch with the Dimensity 1300 first, but we expect the OnePlus Nord 3 to be among them. The Dimensity 1300 should offer performance on the scale of Qualcomm’s most-powerful 7-series chip, the Snapdragon 778G.

Vivo X Fold new images reveal color options, price also leaks

Vivo X Fold will also come in grey, price starts at CNY 11,999
Image: Mysmartprice

vivo will announce the X Fold on April 11 and we’ve gathered enough data from leaks and rumors to know what to expect. But it’s always nice to add a few extra bits and pieces and as those come, the price is a pretty big one.

The vivo X Fold will start at CNY 11,999 (INR 1,43,300, €1,735, converted) and CNY 12,999 (INR 1,55,000, €1,880, converted) for the higher-specced model. The information was confirmed by a blurry snap from a briefing presentation slide.

For context, the Galaxy Z Fold3 officially runs for CNY 14,000 in China – that’s the single 12/512GB variant, meaning that Vivo’s pricing is more aggressive than Samsung’s.

Additionally, the vivo X Fold will come in Grey, not just Blue, and Black. Here’s a press render of the phone in Grey and Blue, courtesy of Ishan Agarwal and MySmartPrice.

The Xiaomi 12 lineup could soon get a ‘Lite’ addition

Image: Android Police

Xiaomi announced its 2022 flagship smartphone lineup consisting of the Xiaomi 12 Pro, 12, and the 12X in China in late December last year and eventually expanded their availability to international markets in mid-March. The company is now working on a mid-range addition to the series dubbed the Xiaomi 12 Lite. The device has been spotted in various databases online, revealing some of its key specs and confirming its imminent launch.

The IMEI database listing (via MySmartPrice) suggests the Xiaomi 12 Lite carries the model number 2203129G, while a Geekbench test and the FCC listing detail it will run Android 12 with MIUI 13 on top out of the box. The phone will seemingly be available in three variants with a combination of 6/8GB RAM and 128 or 256GB storage.
