Official Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 and Flip4 cases are up for early pre-order

Samsung’s been doing foldables longer than anybody, and while its earliest attempts definitely had that “wow” factor, the combination of super-high prices and some rough-around-the-edges hardware made them a little hard to enthusiastically recommend. A couple generations later, though, we have the very polished Galaxy Z Flip3, which is much, much easier to get behind. A new Flip and Fold are both just over the horizon with a launch possibly set for next month, and while we’ve already had a peek at the Galaxy Z Flip4 thanks to some earlier leaks, today we’re checking out what to expect from Samsung’s official cases.

Image: Apple

Next week, Apple’s new MacBook Air will finally be available for purchase through online and physical retail channels. The new MacBook Air will come in a variety of colors. Apple will also be bundling a color-matched USB-C to MagSafe 3 Cable. To coincide with the release, Apple has updated its online store to offer the USB-C to MagSafe 3 Cable in four different colors.

Spotted by iMore, the new USB-C to MagSafe 3 Cable is available directly from Apple through its online store. Along with the traditional-looking silver, there is now the option to purchase: Space Gray, Midnight, and Starlight. While these are most likely meant for new MacBook Air owners, that won’t stop other Mac product owners – such as those that bought the new 14- or 16-inch MacBook Pro – from purchasing them. If you’re looking to update your USB-C to MagSafe 3 Cable, you can expect to pay $49.

Apple’s MacBook Air will make its official retail debut on July 15. The MacBook Air offers Apple’s latest M2 SoC, along with an entirely new design for 2022 that measures just 11mm thick. It has a 13.6-inch display and can be configured with up to 24GB RAM and 2TB SSD storage. The web camera has also been improved when compared to prior models, capable of capturing video at 1080p. Lastly, there is a solid keyboard, with two USB-C Thunderbolt ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a MagSafe port.

The MacBook Air is now available for pre-order with a starting price of $1,199. You might want to take a look at our deals page for the MacBook Air, as it might offer the best pricing. Along with new computing products, Apple is expected to release a new iPhone and also a new Apple Watch later this year.

After initialy posting the image to Weibo, DuanRui Tweeted the image as well. The entry tier iPhone 14 and the 14 Pro are expected to have similarly-sized displays (6.1-inch) and the larger iPhone 14 model and the 14 Pro Max should have 6.7-inch screens. Nvidia RTX 4000 graphics cards could be delayed until December

Image: Future

Nvidia’s next-gen Lovelace graphics cards might be delayed until December 2022, or so the rumor mill reckons.

This fresh speculation comes from prominent YouTube leaker Moore’s Law is Dead (MLID), who believes that the launch of RTX 4000 GPUs could be pushed back based on feedback from multiple industry sources.

Now, we’ve already heard about Nvidia and its partners having to deal with excess RTX 3000 stock, and it seems this could be an even bigger problem than previously thought, with MLID stating that some sources are now talking in terms of the situation being ‘desperate’.

Quotes from MLID’s sources (some of the most favored and reliable ones, the leaker asserts) include this: “We’ve been forced to swallow tens of thousands of high-end Ampere cards we don’t want, nor are we sure we can sell them above what we paid.”

That does indeed sound like a desperate situation, if retailers are starting to look at the prospect of selling the graphics cards at next-to-no profit, such is the potential rush to get rid of them.

A nasty new malware strain is stealing data from Linux devices

Image: Shutterstock

A new Linux malware has been discovered that is capable of avoiding detection by antivirus programs, steals sensitive data from compromised endpoints and infects all processes running on a device.

Cybersecurity researchers from Intezer Labs say the malware, dubbed OrBit, modifies the LD_PRELOAD environment variable, allowing it to hijack shared libraries and, consequently, intercept function calls.

“The malware implements advanced evasion techniques and gains persistence on the machine by hooking key functions, provides the threat actors with remote access capabilities over SSH, harvests credentials, and logs TTY commands,” Intezer Labs researcher Nicole Fishbein explained.

July 9th marks the ninth birthday of the BTS Army (specifically, the official announcement of its name). As Twitter celebrates the anniversary, Google has released a new street view experiment through its Arts & Culture platform in collaboration with the band. The BTS x Street Galleries exhibition brings viewers on a virtual tour of the group’s favorite artworks.

Each member has curated a virtual gallery, with their selections placed in various public locations that will be highly recognizable to BTS fans. J-Hope decorated the UN General Assembly, where BTS gave an address and shot a music video last year; RM guides fans through Seoul’s Namdaemun, where BTS performed for 2021’s Global Citizen Live festival.

Government operations have also been hit by the Rogers Communications issue. The company says it is working rapidly to resolve the nationwide problem.

“We know how important it is for our customers to stay connected,” the company said in a statement.

It is not known what caused the outage, which is the second one in 15 months.

It began at around 04:30 ET (08:30 GMT). Internet traffic had dropped to around 75% of its normal level by Friday morning, according to NetBlocks, an internet watchdog organisation.

Rogers is the mobile carrier of nearly 11 million Canadians, with a stake in everything from hockey to cable television.
