Official Xiaomi Civi’s teaser reveals design identical to vivo X60 Pro
Xiaomi yesterday announced it will unveil the new Civi series smartphones on September 27 in China, and today the company posted a few teasers on its Weibo account, revealing the Civi’s design.
At first glance, the Xiaomi Civi could be easily mistaken for the vivo X60 Pro’s Shimmer Blue variant – thanks to the camera island, the paint job, and the centered punch hole screen.
However, upon closer inspection, you can notice the Civi’s back cover has a starry pattern, which reminds us of Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G’s Astral Blue and Reno6 Pro 5G’s Aurora variants. This clearly shows where Xiaomi’s product team drew its inspiration from for the Civi, and that’s quite ironic for a brand often seen accusing the rivals of being copycats.

Samsung Galaxy A13 5G to boast 50MP main camera and 5,000 mAh battery

We first heard about the existence of the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G a few weeks ago, but little has been reported, except for the alleged €200 price tag. Now, we have some details surrounding Samsung’s supposedly most affordable 5G-enabled handset.
The same source says the device will carry a model name SM-A136B and will likely employ Samsung’s ISOCELL JN1 sensor with 50MP resolution. Not that the source explicitly mentions the said sensor, but it’s a budget 50MP shooter that has already been used in the affordable Redmi 10, so it makes sense. The device will also boast a 5,000 mAh battery.

Moto G Pure leak lists 6.5″ AMOLED display, 48 MP main camera and aluminum frame
Interestingly, the 6.5” display will be an AMOLED. It’s interesting because the rest of the phone is quite basic (especially for the $300 price range), at least based on the information so far.
The Moto G Pure is said to use the Helio G25 chipset, earlier prototypes apparently used a P22 instead. The G25 is a 12 nm chip with eight Cortex-A53 CPU cores and a PowerVR GE8320 GPU, it is meant for $100 phones or so. The base configuration will have 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB storage, Android 11 will be pre-installed.

EU may force Apple to add USB-C ports to iPhones

The European Commission on Thursday revealed a proposal that would require phones and other electronic devices to include a common USB-C charging port, to reduce waste by letting people reuse their old chargers on new devices. In addition to phones, the rules would apply to tablets, cameras, headphones, portable speakers and handheld video game consoles.

G.Skill is getting ready to release DDR5 RAM

G.Skill is one of the most recognizable computer memory producers on the market, so it’s little wonder that it’s preparing for the next generation of RAM (random-access memory).
DDR5 is predicted to become the new standard of RAM by as early as 2023, but previously announced kits from the likes of Samsung and TeamGroup haven’t had the most inspiring designs for memory.
As G.Skill is especially favored by PC gamers owing to its creative designs, it’s unsurprising to see what looks to be the familiar RGB lighting that features on popular products like the Trident Z range, with the video teaser even displaying the light in a ‘Z’ formation.

NASA Mars robot hears planet grumble during 90-minute-long marsquake

NASA’s Mars InSight lander had two big reasons to celebrate on Sept. 18. It marked the lander’s 1,000th Martian day (called a “sol”) on the red planet, and it’s also the day it detected a fantastic nearly 1.5-hour-long marsquake estimated to hit a magnitude of 4.2. Talk about shaking things up.
It’s been quite a run of marsquakes for InSight lately. It also picked up quakes of magnitudes 4.1 and 4.2 on Aug. 25. All three of these recent shakers beat out the lander’s previous record holder for magnitude, a 3.7 picked up in 2019. As NASA JPL pointed out in a statement on Wednesday, a 4.2 quake has five times the energy of a 3.7.
