More Realme 9 5G specs leak on FCC, chipset and battery revealed

Image: FCC

The Realme 9 5G smartphone appeared on FCC, and it looked a lot like the Realme 8 5G. Today the US regulatory posted more images from the certification, revealing it is indeed mostly the same phone with one major difference – the chipset is now Dimensity 810, instead of Dimensity 700.

Everything else, down to the size and the battery capacity, and even the cameras, appear to be the same.

The certification documents show a MT6833P chipset, which is indeed the 8 series product of Mediatek, and shouldn’t be confused with the Dimensity 700 despite its very similar MT6833 model number.

We are also looking at a 5,000 mAh power cell on the inside that will be charged through a USB-C port on the bottom.

The screen will be a 6.5” LCD with a punch hole for the 16MP selfie camera, while the triple camera setup on the back will involve a 48MP and two 2MP sensors. The Realme 9 5G is not expected to arrive alongside the Realme 9 Pro and Realme 9 Pro+ this month, and we’re waiting to see when exactly it will be launched.

Motorola Edge 30 Pro leaks in renders, confirm the Edge X30 design

Image: 91Mobiles

Motorola is readying a new flagship model for the global markets based on the Motorola Edge X30 that launched in China late last year. Its rumored to be called Motorola Edge 30 Pro and we got yet another batch of images allegedly depicting it.

They were delivered by 91mobiles and show a design virtually identical to the X30’s. That contradicts previously leaked renders suggesting that Motorola moved the fingerprint reader under the display (the original X30 in China has that on the side) and repositioned the logo on the back.

Apple reportedly imports budget iPhone to India for testing, along with two iPad models

Apple iPhone SE (2020)

According to a report from 91Mobiles, three Apple devices totaling seven model numbers have been imported into India ahead of Apple’s spring event, seemingly for testing purposes. This is according to unnamed industry sources. The three devices include a budget iPhone, a budget iPad, and the iPad Air, possibly a refreshed model.

Among the seven SKUs, three of them correspond with an unreleased iPhone, assumed to be Apple’s rumored third-generation iPhone SE. The iPhone model was imported under the model numbers A2595, A2783, and A2784 and said to cost ~INR 23,000 (~$306) before import taxes.

Next up, an iPad Air is mentioned as a possibility with model numbers A2588 and A2589 and speculated to be a refreshed iPad Air model. This model is priced between ~INR 37,500 (~$500) and ~INR 52,300 (~$697). Two other iPad model numbers A2757 and A2761 may correspond with a budget iPad that’s priced at around INR 22,500 (~$300).

Again, all the prices mentioned don’t include potential import taxes/duties so think of them more as ballpark prices. Reports of a 5G version of the iPhone SE swirled last month with an estimated launch of April or May and an A15 Bionic chipset. It’s expected to arrive with a refreshed iPad Air.

These devices are supposedly being tested in India, but it’s not enough evidence to confirm whether Apple will bring them to India for sure.

Global OnePlus 10 Pro will still run OxygenOS, new rumor claims

Global OnePlus 10 Pro will still run OxygenOS, new rumor claims
Image: Oneplus

The global launch of the OnePlus 10 Pro is apparently coming in the next few weeks, as the phone was rumored to be in stores by the end of March. Unlike the already available Chinese version, which runs Oppo’s ColorOS, the global model was supposedly coming with a new unified ColorOS + OxygenOS skin. At least that’s what the two companies announced back in September, when the OnePlus 10 series was specifically mentioned as the first to get the new unified OS.

Well, according to a new rumor from a usually reliable tipster, that’s not happening. Apparently, the OnePlus 10 Pro will launch globally with OxygenOS still on board. It’s unclear whether this means full, classic, old-style OxygenOS, or the newer version (as seen on the Nord 2) which look like OxygenOS but has ColorOS code underneath.

Image: Google

The Google Pixel 6 wasn’t just our favorite phone of last year — it might have been yours too. According to Google’s recent earnings call, it broke sales records last quarter (Q4 2021), thanks to the Pixel 6.

The full quote transcribed from Sundar Pichai’s call during today’s earnings report is just below:

“In Q4, we set all all-time quarterly sales record for Pixel. This came in spite of an extremely challenging supply-chain environment. The response from Pixel 6 from our customers and carrier partners was incredibly positive. And AI is making Pixel even more helpful…”

The discussion then wound onto the features Pichai attributed the Pixel 6’s success to, including the new real-time translation tools.

New data found by researching one of the most extreme exoplanets we know of could help us understand the complex atmospheric layers of others, including Earth-like planets.

According to a media release, a group of researchers has peered into the atmosphere of one of the most extreme planets. This exoplanet in question is WASP-189b. Researchers say it is a hot, Jupiter-like planet. The planet was first scrutinized using the CHEOPS space telescope.
