Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 3 Earbuds Will Arrive in April

Image: Sennheiser

Back in March of 2020 we awarded an Editors’ Choice award to Sennheiser’s Momentum True Wireless 2 earbuds. They’re still excellent earbuds, but two years is a long time in the headphone market, and fans of Sennheiser buds have been eagerly awaiting a third-gen Momentum True Wireless 3. Well, it’ll officially be announced in April, according to Sennheiser, although the company wouldn’t provide any details beyond that.

Sennheiser executives noted the impending arrival of the Momentum True Wireless 3 during an online presentation discussing its new partnership Swiss company Sonova, which acquired Sennheiser’s consumer products business last year. As part of the presentation, Sennheiser announced a new high-end in-ear headphone, the IE 600 ($700), which it says is “crafted from ZR01 amorphous zirconium, a metal with a glass-like atomic structure that gives it triple the hardness and bend resistance of high-performance steel.”

Every iPhone 15 model will have a new display design, insider says

Word of Apple’s rumored new iPhone 15 design comes from display analyst Ross Young. And while Apple rumors are a dime a dozen, Young has a strong record with respect to anticipating Apple’s moves in the mobile space.

Specifically, Young recently took to Twitter and said that all iPhone 15 models will boast a hole punch and pill design combo. The hole punch cutout will house the iPhone’s front-facing camera while the pill-shaped cutout will house sensors like Face ID. While the exact size of these cutouts remains to be seen, a render of what the design may look like is above.

Incidentally, the actual cutouts may be slightly wider than the render above. Still, it stands to reason that Apple will try and make these sensors as unobtrusive as possible in the years to come.

The exciting news is that we don’t actually have to wait for the iPhone 15 to see this slightly altered form factor. On the contrary, rumor has it that Apple’s upcoming iPhone 14 Pro models will boast this new design later this year.

It’s been rumored that Apple would ideally like to embed its Face ID sensor underneath the display itself, but there’s no indication that that is coming anytime soon. In the interim, the render above likely illustrates the next evolution in iPhone design.

For what it’s worth, we’ve also heard rumors that Apple is working on technology that would incorporate Touch ID underneath the iPhone display. But again, there’s no strong evidence, at this point, that we’ll see this anytime soon.

Samsung Galaxy A13 4G’s specs, design, and price leak as Galaxy A33 5G appears in colorful renders

Image: Winfuture

Samsung launched the Galaxy A13 5G last year, and it’s expected to unveil the Galaxy A13 4G soon since the smartphone recently bagged NBTC certification and its support pages also went live on Samsung’s official websites in multiple countries. And while we await more details from Samsung about the Galaxy A13 4G’s launch, a new leak by WinFuture tells us what to expect from the A13 4G as it revealed its specs, design, and price.

The Samsung Galaxy A13 4G looks similar to its 5G counterpart. We have a notched screen on the front, and the back has the cameras and LED flash placed separately instead of inside an island. And since these protrude, the phone will likely wobble on flat surfaces.

The Galaxy A13 4G’s right-side frame features a volume rocker and power button, which doubles up as a fingerprint reader. We don’t have images showing the phone’s left side, but since the 5G model has the SIM card slot on the left-side frame, the 4G variant may also have one.

We’ve seen the Galaxy A13 4G on Geekbench previously with the Exynos 850 SoC and 3GB RAM, and the source corroborates that bit about the chip. But, that device had model code SM-A135F, and the one we are talking about right now has model designation SM-A136.

That said, the Galaxy A13 4G will come with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage onboard, and it will also have a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

The smartphone’s 90Hz LCD will measure 6.6″ diagonally and have FullHD+ resolution. Its notch will house an 8MP selfie shooter, and the camera system on the rear will consist of 48MP primary, 5MP ultrawide, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensors.

Fueling the entire package will be a 5,000 mAh battery with 15W charging support. The Galaxy A13 4G will come in at least three colors and start at €200 in Europe.

Talking about the Samsung Galaxy A33 5G, we already know what the smartphone will look like, thanks to its CAD-based renders that leaked last November. But now we’ve got the Galaxy A33 5G’s official-looking renders, which not only corroborate the phone’s design but also show it off in four new colors.

The source says that the Galaxy A33 5G will come with the Exynos 1200 SoC, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, and 5,000 mAh battery.

Galaxy M23 Google Play Console listing confirms key specs

Image: Sammobile

Multiple leaks have predicted that the Galaxy M23 will run a Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoC. Its Google Play Console listing agrees with the speculation, essentially confirming that it will be powered by the SoC. That should, on paper, allow the smartphone to outperform most offerings from competitors at that price point.

Other Galaxy M23 specs highlighted by the listing include an FHD+ (1,080 x 2,480) screen and 6 GB of RAM. Interestingly enough, the part that shows the Android build seems to have been cropped. However, it would be reasonable to assume that it will run Android 12 customised with One UI 4.0 out of the box.

vivo unlists NEX phones, feeds up X Note rumors

vivo unlists NEX phones, feeds up X Nоte rumors

The vivo NEX series is being axed, another source revealed. Sina Technology, one of the biggest tech platforms in China, pointed out that vivo unlisted the NEX phones from its website. It also said insiders confirmed the new flagship is going to be called X Note, while the foldable will sport the X Fold moniker.

The new top-tier phone will obviously not be named NEX 5. Sina Technology stated that vivo executives folded the whole NEX sub-division, and employees will work for other divisions within the Dongguan company as part of an internal structure adjustment.

The NEX brand was supposed to bring the latest innovations, and it did back in the days – the NEX S was the first phone with an elevating selfie camera in 2018, while the NEX Dual Display brought the dual-screen experience. However, in the past two years, we haven’t heard or seen anything from the team, so the internal shift is hardly a surprise.

iPhone SE 3 and iPad Air 5 spotted on a retailer’s site, hinting at a launch date

Image: Future

If you’re in the market for a new iPhone or a new iPad, then it looks likely that Apple will have a couple of new options for you soon, as both the iPhone SE 3 and the iPad Air 5 have been spotted on a retailer’s website.

Specifically, test pages for a new iPhone SE model and a new iPad Air are being built by “one of Asia’s leading mobile networks” according to Evan Blass (a leaker with a great track record), writing for 91Mobiles.

The images below apparently come from these test pages, though we wouldn’t read too much into the devices shown, as these are likely placeholder images showing current models.

But the fact that these pages are being built strongly suggests that the iPhone SE 3 and iPad Air 5 will be launching imminently.

We can get more specific than that though, as Apple is holding an event on March 8, so the timing of this all but confirms that we’ll see those devices there – not least because a previous leak had also suggested we’d see them at this Apple event. We still can’t be 100% sure, but with less than a week to go we will be soon.

Nothing Might Be Working On A smartphone. Hopefully It’ll Be Transparent.

Nothing Might Be Working On A smartphone. Hopefully It'll Be Transparent.
Image: Mashable

Nothing, the company started in 2020 by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, has so far launched only one product: the Nothing Ear (1) earbuds, best known for being partially transparent.

Now, TechCrunch reports that the company is working on its first smartphone. Pei has reportedly shown a prototype of the phone in meetings with key executives during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The report doesn’t offer many details about the actual device, aside from it being similar in design to the Ear (1) earbuds, and likely at least partially transparent.

In February, Pei implied that he’s working on an Android-based device in a few cryptic tweets, saying that he’s “back on Android” and that “Android 12 is nice.” He also praised a fan’s drawing of a possible Nothing smartphone featuring transparent design elements.

Phones with transparent elements aren’t unheard of. Xiaomi’s Mi 8 Explorer Edition, launched in 2018, had a partially transparent back, as did HTC’s Exodus 1, launched in 2019. It’s a cool look, though it remains to be seen whether Nothing can offer something genuinely new in the smartphone space.

Samsung might be making your Galaxy S22 run far slower than it should

Image: Future

The Samsung Galaxy S22 and its siblings are among the most powerful phones on Earth, but they might not always seem like it, and there’s a reason for that – Samsung is reportedly throttling around 10,000 apps and games.

This problem was reported by Twitter user @GaryeonHan and numerous South Korean users, who compiled a list of affected apps, and report that the issue is seemingly caused by performance limits put in place by Samsung’s Game Optimizing Service.

Yet it’s not just games that are affected, with Netflix, TikTok, Google Keep, Instagram, and many other apps also on the list.

The Game Optimizing Service seemingly does this to preserve battery life, but it can’t be disabled, and sneakily it doesn’t affect benchmarking apps – so they’ll report higher performance than you’re actually likely to get.

Demonstrating this, a South Korean YouTuber changed the name of the 3DMark benchmarking app to Genshin Impact (a game which is throttled) and saw the app report scores and frame rates that were over 50% lower than when it was named 3DMark. So in other words Samsung’s aggressive throttling could see performance drop by 50% or more in affected apps.

According to a leaker going by the name Lanzuk and posting on a South Korean blogging platform, Samsung is now “investigating” this issue. Of course it’s hard to believe that the company didn’t know this was happening, but perhaps this means some changes will be made soon.

For what it’s worth, this problem may not be affecting your Galaxy S22, as Android Authority reports to not be able to find the Game Optimizing Service on their handsets. On the flipside though, the issue might also affect older Samsung phones, as our Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra does have it.

Reliance Industries plans to invest up to $221 million in U.S. electronics firm Sanmina to set up a joint venture as the Indian giant looks to expand its electronics manufacturing.

The joint venture aims to create a “world-class” electronic manufacturing hub in India, the two said. It will prioritize high technology infrastructure hardware for growth markets and across industries such as communications networking (5G, cloud infrastructure, hyperscale datacenters), medical and healthcare systems, industrial and cleantech, and defense and aerospace.

All the manufacturing will initially take place at Sanmina’s 100-acre campus in Chennai, with the ability for site expansion to support future growth opportunities as well as to potentially expand to new manufacturing sites in India over time based on business needs, they said.

The joint venture will also create a “Manufacturing Technology Center of Excellence” to support the product development and hardware startup ecosystem in India, among other things.

Reliance Strategic Business Ventures, a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries, will own 50.1% of the joint venture, India’s largest company said in a filing with the stock exchange. The U.S. firm partnered with EV maker Ather Energy in 2018 to develop and manufacture key components for scooters.
