Image: @onleaks

Samsung’s expected to announce a number of devices soon, and while we’re probably most excited about its new phones, we’ve also been looking forward to new developments on the tablet front. In addition to some premium models, we’re also anticipating the new Galaxy Tab A8 10.5, which has been looking like a more budget-friendly alternative. Now, ahead of the official launch, we’re picking up some new details about the slate, along with official marketing images.

We already heard that this was a tablet for big-screen lovers, with the 1920 x 1200 10.5-inch LCD running at a 60 Hz refresh rate. That’s ever so slightly larger than the Galaxy Tab A7’s 10.4-inch screen. The latest leaked pictures confirm that the bezels on this big screen will be pleasingly symmetrical (per WinFuture).

The Oppo Find N foldable phone gets shown off in leaked images

Image: Aakash Jhaveri

Rumors around a foldable phone from Oppo have been swirling for months now, and while its existence has been confirmed – with a launch set for December 15 – we haven’t been given much of an idea about what the device will look like… until now.

Ever-reliable tipster @evleaks has posted a bunch of high-quality pictures of the phone, so if you want to get an early look at its aesthetics. Considering the source and the content of these images, we’d say they’re likely to be the real deal.

What we appear to have here is a phone that opens and closes like a book, reminiscent of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. We can see three main camera lenses on the rear of the handset, and what looks like punch-hole selfie cameras on both the larger, internal display and the smaller, external one.

Publisher Krafton is introducing an optional Battlegrounds Plus upgrade. For a one-off payment of $13, you’ll get access to Ranked and custom modes, an XP boost, in-game items and other perks. Those who have already paid for the game will get Battlegrounds Plus and extra goodies.

The rumored RX 6000S may be AMD’s secret ace for gaming laptops in 2022

Image: Dell

According to a new leak, AMD may be working on new mobility graphics cards for gamers, currently dubbed the RX 6000S series.

The RDNA 2 6nm GPUs are rumored to be a refresh of the RX 6000 laptop line of graphics cards and may offer a performance boost combined with lower power requirements.

Although there is little information about the alleged mobility graphics cards, there is enough to piece together from several sources. The first and main change is the switch from 7nm to 6nm: It’s likely that AMD RX 6000S would be based on TSMC’s 6nm process. It’s unclear which of the current AMD graphics cards are due for a revamp. Some leaks suggested the creation of the RX 6900M, but the most recent rumors point to the RX 6800S being the first in line.

Mercedes-Benz Gets Approval for True Hands-Free Driving Before Tesla

Image: Mercedes-Benz

Mercedes-Benz is now the first and only automaker to win regulatory approval for a Level 3 autonomous driving system, beating out Tesla, Waymo, and other rivals. Drivers on the German autobahn can kick back and take their hands off the wheel using Mercedes’ upcoming Drive Pilot feature, which debuts in 2022.

Before you celebrate, there are two big footnotes to this story. Drive Pilot is limited to 37 MPH (60 KPH) on the autobahn, so you can only use it in traffic. Additionally, the feature only works in areas selected by Mercedes-Benz and the German government. (These geofenced areas total about 8080 miles or 13,000 kilometers.)

So, you can’t go hands-free while blazing down the autobahn at 80+ MPH. But you can take your hands off the wheel to play on your phone or make a sandwich while in heavy traffic. And that’s a very big deal—not just because sitting in traffic sucks, but because this is a relatively safe and consistent environment for automakers to collect real-world autonomous driving data.

Breakthrough anti-aging chemical successfully extends the lives of mice

According to a study completed on the anti-aging chemical, it was able to destroy the cells typically associated with aging. Our bodies have more of these cells as our age increases, and they are known as senescent cells. Scientists have linked these cells to a variety of age-related issues, like type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and even osteoporosis.

By injecting the chemical found in the grape seed extract, scientists at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in Shanghai were able to minimize the number of these cells found in the test’s mice. When treating younger mice, the chemical also appeared to make them physically fitter. They also found that the anti-aging chemical was effective at reducing the size of tumors when used alongside chemotherapy.

The scientists extracted a chemical called procyanidin C1, or PCC1. The researchers found that at low concentrations, PCC1 appears to prevent senescent cells from producing substances that cause inflammation. When used in higher concentrations, they were able to kill the cells, leaving other, younger, cells undisturbed.
