Pixel 6a specs leak brings good news Google fans will love

Google Pixel 6 Camera Bump

if this new Pixel 6a specs leak is real, then the Pixel 6a will match the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro when it comes to performance. That’s because 9to5Google discovered that Google will use the same Tensor GS101 SoC inside the Pixel 6a. That’s great news for anyone looking for an even cheaper Pixel 6 version. And the Pixel 6 is already an incredible offer at $599, despite the early issue that Google has to fix.

If the Pixel 6a’s SoC choice might be exciting, the camera specs are a bit of a letdown. The same 9to5Google found more information about the camera specs in Google’s Camera app.

According to the teardown, the Pixel 6a won’t match the camera specs of the Pixel 6. Instead, the phone will deliver Pixel 5-grade cameras.

Google will replace the 50-megapixel GN1 camera on the Pixel 6 phones with Sony’s 12.2-megapixel IMX363 sensor that Google has used since the Pixel 3. The Pixel 6a will also get a 12-megapixel IMX386 ultra-wide sensor from Sony, matching Pixel 6’s ultra-wide camera.

Finally, the Pixel 6a selfie camera will get Sony’s 8-megapixel IMX355 sensor. The Pixel 6 has the same selfie camera specs.
In other words, the Pixel 6a will not deliver Google’s best possible camera experience. But you’re still going to get the next best thing available on Pixel phones. That’s the kind of compromise needed to lower the price below that Pixel 6’s $599 cost.

Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed specs for an upcoming flagship device, albeit without directly saying it’s the 2022 Oppo phone. Nevertheless, the claimed 80W figure here lines up with an Oppo Find leak from the tipster earlier this month.Digital Chat Station/Weibo

So, what should you expect in terms of specs then? Well, Digital Chat Station reports that you’re getting the follow-up to the Snapdragon 888 series SoC (SM8450), 12GB of RAM, the aforementioned 80W charging speed, and a 6.7-inch QHD+ 120Hz screen.

There’s no word on battery size, but a bigger battery would always be welcomed (although we had no complaints about the previous phone’s 4,500mAh pack).

In terms of photography, the apparent Oppo Find X4 Pro is tipped to get a pair of 50MP cameras (1/1.5-inch sensor size each), a 13MP or 12MP 2X telephoto camera, and a 32MP shooter.

Samsung adds Pro Mode support for Galaxy S21 Ultra telephoto camera via Expert RAW app

Image: 9to5Google

Samsung is now adding Pro Mode support for the Galaxy S21 Ultra’s dedicated telephoto camera via a new “Expert RAW” app.

In what seems a strange move, the Korean firm has announced the release of a standalone app to enable Pro Mode support for the telephoto zoom lens on Galaxy S21 Ultra handsets. One would have expected a software update to simply add the option within the default camera app, but Samsung has decided that a standalone option is the best solution.

New reports from JP Morgan claim the estimated delivery windows for the iPhone 13 are getting shorter.

JP Morgan analyst Samik Chatterjee wrote in a note to investors (as seen by AppleInsider) that the lead times for iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro have become moderated for a second week in a row. This is the third time that the iPhone 13 lineup has experienced this. Chatterjee believes that the move could signify a push towards providing more supply.

Image: Netflix

Spotify and Netflix are teaming up on a new partnership. With this deal, the music-streaming service will provide a “full audio-streaming experience” from the video streaming company, which looks similar to what Apple does with Apple Music, Apple TV+, and Apple Podcasts.

Spotify announced in a blog post:

Today’s trending shows and movies aren’t just inspiring fandoms, they’re also fueling internet-wide obsessions. So much so that within two weeks of Squid Game’s debut on Netflix, Spotify listeners had created more than 22,500 unique themed playlists to keep the experience going. It’s clear that after the credits roll, viewers are left wanting even more — and they come to Spotify to hear it.

So starting today, the two streaming companies are coming together to launch an all-new Netflix Hub on Spotify where fans can get the full audio-streaming experience from the entertainment they love.

With this Netflix Hub on Spotify, Free and Premium listeners in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, and India can access official soundtracks, playlists, and podcasts, along with exclusive Spotify content.

Is India set to ban cryptocurrencies? It’s a bit unclear for now

Image: Morrowind / Shutterstock

Crypto currencies on Indian crypto exchanges tanked yesterday after it came to light that Parliament will see the introduction of the much-delayed cryptocurrency bill at its winter session that will commence on November 29 and is expected to continue till December 23.

The official bulletin said: The Cryptocurrency and Regulation of Official Digital Currency Bill, 2021, India  aims to create a framework for the official digital currency that will be issued by the Reserve Bank of India.

So far okay. But it is the second part of the official announcement that has truly set the cat among the pigeons. It read: “The Bill also seeks to prohibit all private cryptocurrencies in India. However, it allows for certain exceptions to promote the underlying technology of cryptocurrency and its uses.”
